ABOUT G
I have always been weary of going barefoot in public showers, locker rooms, spas, and when traveling. I am not a total germaphobe but some things just disgust me – namely, stepping on a surface where other people’s dirty feet have been. I’ve always been fearful of contracting fungus or warts.
So, I decided to bring up the subject with my husband, who is a podiatrist. He educated me that fungus and wart cases are extremely common and that these diseases can be passed very easily from person to person especially on wet surfaces and during pedicures. Well, I wasn’t about to forego my bi-weekly pedicure (although I took some precautions), so I decided to look into the shower/locker room/spa part. Research shows that all sorts of fungal, bacterial, and viral infections can be easily obtained in the shower. And, it appears that these infections are not all completely curable. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be one of those people with permanent brown, brittle toenails and scaly, warted feet!
That’s what motivated me to put my career experience to good use! Having worked in retail buying, product development, and merchandise planning for over 20 years, I have always looked for new opportunities and useful products that fill a void in the market. I worked closely with my husband and two other podiatrists to design a viable solution to help prevent foot and ankle infections in wet, public places. I then contacted some of my retail colleagues to discuss development and production. And that’s the story of how we came up with the shower bootie!
It’s kind of like a shower cap but for your feet. It has a grip sole and is made of vinyl so water cannot penetrate. And the best part is that the G’anatomy shower bootie protects your entire foot including your ankle from infections that can be obtained in showers, locker rooms, spas, saunas, and more! That’s way more effective than a flip flop! Now, you don’t have to worry about water splash back in the shower or in the sauna or anywhere else you choose to wear your shower bootie.
Consider yourself bootified!
